I don't know what to call this post - combo maybe??

I am having to share the computer and I don't like it. Someone in Robert's high school graduating class has orchestrated a website where they do their own blogging type thing and leave messages or chat or whatever. They post pics and such so...as soon as Robert gets home from work he heads for the computer. Nothing gets done around here any more!!! He is either chatting or posting on the site or playing computer poker- not with real money!! And this is cutting into my computer time and I have a lot to post!

Chandler did not want to have his picture taken so we tried to sneak a picture with all three grandkids, Chandler, Rainey and Noah.

My precious grandson had a super birthday party. I think Chandler had a good time. His cake was a Cindy cake!! It was cute with a cowboy hat and boots that really looked like Chandler's boots. Chandler was given lots of nice gifts and all of us- parents and grandparents went together to get him a Wii. I know you are saying- what- he is just 5 years old. Yes- and he loves it. He loves the cow racing game and the boxing and the fishing and golf. It is a pretty fun machine. I actually bought one for Robert and Austin (and me). :) After cake and opening presents it was pretty funny watching all the grownups and Chandler playing the games. I guess I have mellowed quite a bit. It used to really make me nervous when people were coming over. I worried about things getting moved out of place or getting dirty or broken or people not taking care of things like I do, but this weekend it was really fun with everyone there to celebrate a precious 5 year old's birthday.

Dylan and Chandler played Wii together before everyone else got to the party.

Isn't this sweet- Rainey and Uncle Austin.

Girlie girl and her baby doll!

Enough with the partying!!

Almost home...

My children and grandchildren are almost here!! Yea!

I found this little saying when Austin was a little boy and it is true about my precious son, Austin and it is true about my precious grandson, Chandler.

A little boy is a handful most of the time...
~a heartful all of the time.

Camp Granna 2006

Here is the book about the second Camp Granna. Believe me- camp is all about Chandler!! :)

Camp Granna…is a very special place. It’s a place where little boys rule.

My mommy and daddy let me go to Camp Granna for the very first time during the summer of 2005. I had such a great time that “my two parents” let me go back again this year. I knew that I would have lots of fun at camp this year. I was sure that this Camp Granna would be bigger and better than ever!! Camp Granna has moved to a different location with more fun and exciting things to do.

One of my favorite activities this year was the cooking classes. Granna let me help her prepare several meals. One night we had quesadillas and I got to add the cheese.

Another night we had pizza and the best night was when we had breakfast for supper!! Yeah-we had scrambled eggs, sausage, gravy and homemade biscuits for supper! I helped make the biscuits and set the table.

At Camp Granna I got to play games . . .

drive remote control cars . . .

watch movies . . . (Dumbo was my favorite!)

and sleep as late as I wanted.

During camp we had big celebrations for the 4th of July and for my mommy and Uncle Austin’s birthdays.

I got to study a bird’s nest with real eggs that the mommy bird had abandoned.

I got to play in the dirt and talk to Mommy and Daddy whenever I wanted.

And I ate lots of chocolate ice cream!!

But the best part of Camp Granna 2006 was . . .
I got to swim whenever I wanted – morning, noon and night!!!

Until next year . . .

Camp Granna 2005

Britni was showing Chandler the website last night and she showed him the first post with Chandler and I crossing our fingers. He was about 2 in the picture. He looked at the picture and said, "Man, Granna looks way young." Little turkey!!

Okay- so I told you that I might let you read the book about the first Camp Granna. Remember that I am no published author and I will just post parts of the book so here goes!!

The forward . . .This book is dedicated to my wonderful, precious, 1st grandson, Chandler Richard Johnson, who is such a joy!! You are such an intelligent, good natured and very handsome little boy. You are so much fun to be with and you are such an inspiration with your cute expressions and angelic voice. “Pay me, Granna. Pay me.” (translation- Play with me, Granna. Play with me.) And so we play!! I love you so very much, Chandler!! Granna

Camp Granna is a very special place. It’s a place where little boys rule.
My mommy and daddy let me go to Camp Granna for the very first time during the summer of 2005. I had never been away from my mommy and daddy for a whole week before and they didn’t know what to expect. But I had a pretty good idea that I would have lots of fun at this camp.

Camp Granna began on Monday. The cook for the day, Granddad, made breakfast. It was cinnamon toast with lots of butter, cinnamon and sugar. And to drink, my personal favorite, choc, better known to most people as chocolate milk.
After breakfast we went to church to learn about Jesus. I didn’t care too much for the first class I was taken to so I just went with the camp counselors, Granna and Granddad, to their class.

On Monday we took a field trip to a farm in Cooper, Texas. We went to the farm where Granna lived when she was a little girl. This is also the place where she lived when she met Granddad. The house was built in 1960 and Granna’s family moved in when she was 6 months old. I got to take my dump truck and bulldozer. I got to haul and dump rocks with Aunt Tina while Granna and Granddad visited with Uncle Steve.

On Tuesday the theme was cowboy day. Uncle Steve came to help Granddad work cows. He brought his horse, Todd, and his puppy, Bruce.

For breakfast we had Granna’s famous Sugar Pies. After breakfast, Granna took me to get my haircut while Granddad, Uncle Austin and Uncle Steve worked the cows. After my haircut we bought barbeque for their lunch. After lunch the real fun began. I got to ride on Uncle Steve’s horse all by myself. And I also got to play with the puppy and watch Uncle Austin ride on the horse.

On Wednesday was movie day. I got to choose whatever movie I wanted to watch. I chose “The Fox and the Hound”. It is a very exciting movie about the friendship of a fox named Todd and a hound named Copper. I got to watch the movie as many times as I wanted.

On Thursday was Granna’s birthday. We just played all day. We played with cars and trucks. We played golf. We read books. We went swimming. And I got to talk to Mommy and Daddy any time I wanted.

On Friday we took Austin to catch the van to go to church camp. It rained and rained on the way to the church. After we left Austin, we played in the rain. We rain through puddles in the parking lot with Aunt Ann. When we got home, Granna and I splashed in mud puddles and mud squished up between our toes. Later that night, Mommy and Aunt Ky Ky came to visit me at Camp Granna.

On Saturday we went on another field trip around town. We went to Moe Joe’s to rent some movies. I got “Bob the Builder”. Then we went to see Aunt Ann. I got to play with a train set at her house.

Camp Granna was the best! I had a great time. I helped Granddad check his cows and he even let me drive his pickup. I got to help Uncle Austin mow the yard. Granna let me get my exercise by jumping on her bed and most days I didn’t even have to take a nap. We read bible stories at night and I got to sleep with Granddad and Granna.

I hope Mommy and Daddy will let me go back next summer!!

Interrupted....

Well, my Chandler moments were definitely interrupted. I had a meeting Tuesday evening and didn't get home until about 9:45 so I didn't get to post anything about the birthday boy. I might just have to do 2 today!!

I started CAMP GRANNA in 2005 when Chandler was 2 and I have had it every summer since. We have a great time at Camp Granna. This evening I might post the book I wrote for Chandler about the 1st Camp Granna, but for now I have to get ready for work. Here is the first line of the book. Camp Granna is a very special place. It is a place where little boys rule. . .

Chandler-isms

Not only is my little grandson the most wonderful, handsome little boy ever- he is also smart!! One day we were driving down the road headed to my house and we passed by this house where we took Austin, Alyssa, Hayden, Little Brittany and some others' prom pictures one year. Now Chandler had only been to this house once. As we passed by he said, "that's where we took Austin's picture." I said, "It sure is. Chandler, you are so smart. He said, "Yeah, I know stuff." He was probably 3 at the time. We have laughed at some of his other Chandler-isms. He used to say "flash of light" for flashlight. He wanted to watch "Little Worm-aid". He likes to use the "commote retroller" (remote control). And he can do magic- he says "Africa, Africa" (abracadabra). Chandler has always loved to be read to and of course I love to read to him!! One day we were going to play a game and he said he needed to read the "ections" (directions). He also likes to read (and eat) Green Eggs and Ham. In this case it is actually green eggs and Vienna Sausages. :) Chandler likes to carry his "pack pack" (back pack) and he has good manners when he uses his "mapkin" (napkin). When he was younger he would say, "Pay me, Granna. Pay me." And so we play!!

In love...

I fell deeply in love with a beautiful blond headed boy and that precious little boy will be 5 years old this week. Chuck and Britni didn't want to find out if they were having a girl or boy when they were expecting Chandler. Kylie and I got to be in the room with Chuck and Britni when Chandler was born. That was way exciting!! He weighed almost 9 pounds and had the sweetest, softest, velvety skin. This week I am devoting my posts to my precious first grandson. We are having a big birthday bash at Granna's house this weekend and the theme is cowboys! Chandler and Uncle Steve
This picture was taken when Chandler was 2. My brother came over to help Robert work cattle and they took a break and let Chandler ride.

Chandler and I have always been big buddies because I do whatever he wants. :) I would cross my fingers and say, "Chandler and Granna are like that." And still today I can ask him if we are "like that" and he will say yes!! When he was younger sometimes he would cross both fingers and say, "both of them." So sweet!!! I cannot imagine life without Chandler. I don't know what I did with myself before he came into our lives!!
