We got in late the night before and everyone slept in, but we finally got going.
I fixed chocolate chip muffins for breakfast and added some flags to
make them patriotic.
We blew up balloons and decorated for the day.
Then we made several red, white and blue goodies to
snack on throughout the day.
Chandler helping make the red jello.
I had compiled a packet of July 4th
activities for the kids to work on which including word search puzzles,
information pages and coloring sheets.
They worked on those for a bit and then they were ready to swim.
While they were swimming, I grilled hamburgers for
lunch. I had bought red, white and blue
plates and napkins to make it more fun and festive.
I also made red and blue ice cubes in star shapes to
add to their drinks.
After lunch we started on these handprint projects but
didn’t get finished until the next day. Check out Rainey's eagle with the pink button eyes!! :)
We were waiting on
our 3rd little camper to arrive at camp!!
Kylie had to work so she and Harrison didn’t get to
come until Wednesday evening but that was okay.
Chandler and Rainey wanted to “night swim” and I had planned to glow
bowl and shoot fireworks so most of the activities for today were in the
evening.
While they were swimming they noticed a frog in the
pool.
For glow bowl I put colored water and glow sticks in some Coke
bottles I had saved however the glow sticks weren’t as bright as I had
anticipated.
For “fireworks” I bought some of those Pop Its that pop when you throw them on the ground and some other little things that wouldn’t hurt the kids. Chandler told his mom we did the “safe” fireworks! J
I bought them all matching July 4th
t-shirts and planned to do a photo shoot.
However, we ran out of time and will have to do the photo shoot later.
Off to bed.
More Camp Granna tomorrow!
