Camp Granna - The Final Day

The last day of Camp Granna!!  Wow - it was a fast week but we had lots of fun.  For the last day - I had planned a "drive in movie" night which is why we have been working on cars all week.  This morning we put the final touches on the cars and they turned out so cute!!!

I made frozen smores to snack on today.  They were sooooo good!!!

Then it was finally movie time.  The kids were so excited.  At the beginning of the week I had the kids choose some books to read at bedtime.  Chandler chose "Old Yeller" to read during the week and then we decided to watch "Old Yeller" at the drive in.  They could hardly wait.  After some technical difficulties we finally got going.  Britni had made the signs for the concession stand  which included everything from hot dogs and chips to candy and drinks.  Everyone got hot dogs in between getting the projector, screen and chairs set up in the back yard.  The kids had done things all week to earn "money" to spend at the concession stand so after eating hot dogs they got their money and chose items from the consession stand.  I had bought movie candy in the boxes and even big buckets of popcorn.  They thought that was pretty cool.  After every one had purchased their concessions we got on with the movie.

Movie time!!

Chuck trying out the BMW!!  :)

I had so much fun with my precious grands during Camp Granna.  I hope they had fun too.  I can't believe how fast time is passing and how quickly they are growing up.

Chandler, Rainey and Harrison - I love you so much and I had so much fun planning and preparing for Camp Granna, but the best part of camp was just getting to spend time with you!!!   I hope you always have fond memories of summer time fun at Camp Granna!!

Until next summer . . .

Camp Granna - Day 5

We took it relatively easy today - because Granna was tired!!  :)   First, Chandler and Rainey helped Grandad pick some watermelon, cantaloupe and bell peppers.

We then needed to get serious about finishing the cars since they would need them for the final day of Camp  Granna.  Here we are working on the fancy wheels.

In the afternoon, we made Moon Sand.  It is a combination of flour and baby oil.  It smelled really good!!  We had to keep shooing the dog away because he wanted to eat it!!!  Yuk!!

Then there was more swimming!!
Chuck, Britni and Steven came when Chuck got off of work.  Chuck, Britni, Chandler and  Rainey went out to Chuck's parents for the night so Steven, Kylie, Harrison and I decided to go to DQ for dinner.  I love Harrison's little shirt.  it lists the items on a hamburger - in the shape of a burger.  It cracks me up!!

One more day!!!

Camp Granna - Day 4

Day 4 was all about nature.    The little campers requested pancakes for breakfast.  I forgot to take a picture until the animal pancakes were almost gone and these were a little done.

Grandad - the chef

The kids played outside for a bit while I put the first coat of paint on their cars.

We finished up a couple of July 4th projects that we didn’t get done the day before.  We finished the Bald Eagles and the red, white and blue handprint wreath while having a snack of Bug Bites and bug ice cubes with Sprite.

After lunch we had a special visitor.  Aunt Ann came to play.  J  She brought fixings for “bug ice cream”.  Chandler and Rainey weren’t too sure about bug ice cream – especially after hearing the ingredients like bug parts and bug blood.

However – it turned out pretty delicious!!
We finally got to our nature walk and the grands found lots of interesting things and here are just a few of the things we found.

Since Chandler and Rainey thought the ice treasures were such fun I decided we would do it again so Harrison/Kylie could participate.  Harrison just wanted to eat the ice cubes!  LOL

Then there was more swimming!!!

And then there was one last July 4th activity – Fireworks Floats.  These consist of red or blue soda pop poured over vanilla ice cream.  Then sprinkle Pop Rocks candy on top for “fireworks” popping!!

Good times!!
