Camp Granna - Day 2 Baseball Day

Decided to make this year a different theme each day so today was Baseball Day.  After a pancake breakfast, Rainey and Harrison colored some baseball pictures while the rest of us were getting ready for the day.

For Baseball Day we headed to Mt. Pleasant to take a tour of D-Bat.
The grands got to see how a baseball bat is made.

It was pretty interesting watching the process from start to finish including the paint and laser etching.  The kids were given a free souvenir bat.

Afterwards we had snacks and then playtime once we were home while lunch was being prepared.

Lunch included hotdogs, chips and apple pie!!  The movie for today was Angels in the Outfield

After movie time/nap time, we had snow cones.

Then we had some batting practice and more swimming.
I filled balloons with water for "batting practice".

They were bailing hay in our pasture and Harrison and his buddies, Kit Kat and Olsen watched the process for a little while.

We ran out of time for some of the activities I had planned.  Some of them were Dizzy Bat where you touch your forehead to the bat and spin around until you are dizzy and Noodle Baseball where you use pool noodles and whiffle balls.  Maybe some time this summer we can do the activities we didn't get to.  We also didn't get to the bedtime story - Casey at the Bat by Ernest Thayer because the kids wanted to sleep in the tent so we were getting things ready to sleep outside.  We got in the tent and the kids flipped and flopped.  I had put an air mattress in the tent but
the air mattress obviously had a leak and was in bad shape by the time we decided to go to sleep. Then Harrison's mommy arrived and came out to the tent because she hadn't seen him in 2 days. Well ...she noticed some insect in the tent and her senses went on high alert. The kids had left the tent unzipped after playing in it the day before so bugs got in. Then Kylie noticed a tiny
spider in the corner. She is a freak when it comes to spiders so before it was all said and done Harrison was crying and the other 2 were ready to call it quits!! I acted disappointed but by now the air mattress was completely flat and I was sweating to death and ready for some AC!!
Maybe next time; or maybe not!!

Day 2 complete.  I'm tired!!
