Rainey Christmas

Okay - it is February but I still wanted to get the last Christmas posted. My brothers and sisters usually get together after Christmas since it is so busy before Christmas and during the holidays. We eat, play games and just enjoy visiting!!  Here are a few pics from our day together.

My niece-in-law, Kristie,  my sister-in-law, Tina and my sister, Ann

Growing up my mother always made this cake called a Lottie Lane cake.  I always thought it was such a pretty cake.  My sister decided to make one this year.  It brought back lots of memories!

White Christmas

After the grands checked out what Santa had brought and we all opened gifts, we ate breakfast and the kids played with their new toys.  And then the magic happened – it began to snow!!!  Chandler and Rainey were so excited.  Well – I’ll admit, I was pretty excited as well.  I couldn’t remember having snow on Christmas Day!!  At first we all ran out onto the back porch in our pajamas to check it out.

The flakes were huge and fluffy.  Before too long there was a thick layer of snow so we bundled up and went out to play.  Chandler and Rainey would play for a while and then come back in to warm up.  I would put the wet clothes in to wash.  Later we would bundle them up again to go out.  I don’t know how much laundry I did but they were having fun and how often do we get snow!!

Granna's snow angels!!!

Kinsler wanted no part of this!!!  He does not like to be cold!!!

Olsen loved being in the snow.  Wherever Chandler and Rainey are - that is                 where Olsen is going to be!!!

Of course we made snow ice cream but I could not get Austin and Chuck to help me – even though that’s what they do every day at their jobs.
In between snow play we had hot chocolate and made some birthday cakes.  Chandler and Rainey decorated them for Jesus.  Then we sang “Happy Birthday” to Jesus and had cake!! Rainey wanted to know when Jesus was going to get some cake.

The snow was beautiful and the kids had a blast playing in it.  What a great day celebrating Jesus'  birth!!!

2nd Christmas of 2012

Chuck, Britni, Chandler and Rainey came over Christmas Eve.  Kylie had to work Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and would then head to Steven’s parents to spend Christmas there.  Grandad always reads “Twas’ the Night Before Christmas” and inserts his own silly words and the kids get a kick out of it.  Then he reads the Christmas story from the bible.  This has been our family tradition since our children were little and when they started having their own children they wanted to continue this Christmas Eve ritual.

Chandler and Austin were having a hard time staying awake.

After the stories it was off to bed for the littles so Santa could come.
Finally morning came and they rushed downstairs to see if Santa had indeed found them at Grandad and Granna’s house.
Kinsler's very 1st  Christmas morning!!
Chandler and Rainey were so excited and Kinsler was all smiles.

Our traditional Christmas breakfast includes sausage balls, monkey bread and orange Julius.  We did the sausage balls and monkey bread when Kylie and Steven were here the weekend before so I thought I would do something a little different on Christmas morning.  Oh – we still had sausage balls but I saw a cinnamon roll tree on Pinterest so I thought I would do that!  Cute and easy.  J

Christmas is so fun with little ones in the house. Their excitement is contagious!!

We sure did miss Steven, Kylie and Harrison!!!

Merry Christmas!!!

1st Christmas of 2012

Since Kylie was scheduled to work on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, we had Christmas with them the weekend before Christmas.  Friday night after a trip to ride the train at the North Pole of Texas, the kids opened a few gifts.

Since Chuck, Britni and children when to stay at Chuck’s parents on Saturday night, Santa came early to see Harrison at our house.

He really liked the bubble machine and his new puppy riding toy and his new Pete, the Cat book.

We got Steven and Kylie a grill for Christmas.  Kylie actually picked it out but they tried to act surprised.  J

My handsome boy who hates to have his picture taken!!!

Here are a few shots after church on Sunday.

We love this little guy!!
