On Saturday, February 22 (not his actual birthdate) we celebrated Chandler's 11th birthday. Yes - you heard me right - 11!!! It cannot have been that long ago that he was born. When Britni told me we were doing his party at my house I asked her what the theme would be and she said she had not decided. I told her that it had to be Duck Dynasty. Chandler loves Uncle Si and even carries around his "tea glass". So we went to pinning Duck Dynasty party ideas and I thought it turned out pretty cute!!
I started by decorating my mantel. I got Britni to bring some of Chandler's stuffed animals - duck, deer, lab puppy. I looked around Grandad's shop for some logs and around the yard where I picked up pine cones and sweet gum balls. Britni and I made a trip to Hobby Lobby and I got some greenery for half price that looked like cattails that you might find around the pool/lake where you hunt. I arranged the cattails in Mason jars filled with bird seed. Then I made another "arrangement" - and I use the term loosely - with a Mason jar filled with pinecones and sweet gum balls and broken limbs from the pine tree. I thought it turned out pretty cute. I will later spray paint the pine cones for decorations next Christmas. I will use the bird seed for all the Red Birds I am seeing around my house. Nothing will go to waste! :)
I bought a couple of rubber snakes at the Dollar store but I had to buy the bright green ones because the coloring on the other's looked too real!! Too scary for me even if they are rubber!!!
I also used Grandad's duck decoys in my decorating. I put 11 in the swimming pool. Our lab - who has never been introduced to duck hunting - did not know what to think!!
I printed off some signs and some of the Duck Dynasty men's pics and Britni went to work decorating/displaying the goodies for the party.
Everything looked so cute and I think Chandler was pleased.
We thought about all the things we have seen in episodes of Duck Dynasty and tried to include several of them in the menu.
We had some Yuppie food that Phil talks about and "Duck Beaks".
We had Ham Sammiches that Godwin likes!!
We had donuts but no donut eating contest!!!
We had Gator Tail (aka chicken strips).
We threw in some camo cupcakes.
And we had Uncle Si's Sweet Tea to drink, of course!! However we used Mason jars since we didn't have any tea glasses like Uncle Si's.
The birthday boy about to blow out the candles.
Lots of fun with family and friends!!
Time for gifts!!
Uncle Si Duck Call and a Duck Dynasty t-shirt from Granna and Grandad.
Sweet!! Nike Elite socks from Uncle Steven and Aunt KyKy.
**Something that really made this Granna proud - Chandler received some monetary gifts for his birthday. On Sunday we all went to church together and he put $10 of his birthday money in the offering plate as it went by. His parents have taught Chandler and Rainey about tithing and on his own he brought some of his gift money to put in the offering plate. After the service, Aunt Ann gave Chandler a birthday card. He opened it and there was $10. He said, "Hey, I put $10 in the offering and now I am getting that back." Aunt Ann told him that if you are faithful to God in your tithing, God is faithful in giving back! What a precious sight to witness and an amazing teachable moment as to the importance of giving.**
My 2 precious granddaughters, Rainey and Hadley!!
The weather was beautiful so we spent a lot of time enjoying the beautiful sunshine and watching the kids and grandkids play!!
They have gotten into playing 4 Square and they are pretty funny and sometimes way too competitive!!
So sometimes they need a little break - thanks to Harrison and Sam.
Hadley and Mommy
The little ones - Kinsler, Addison, Rainey and Harrison playing in the leaves. Olsen is going to be wherever the kids are!! Surprised that we still had some leaves after some of the winds we have had lately!!
Olsen has made many laps around the house and swimming pool following the grandkids. He loves them and wants to be wherever they are, but Kinsler just doesn't want Olsen to lick him in the face!!
Sam and Harrison - always on the go.
Erin, Trevor and Kylie
Uncle Austin and Hadley
Future Aggie!?!?

It was a great day celebrating an amazing young man's birthday!! So blessed to have the house filled with family and friends!!
Rainey wanted to do something for Chandler so she drew this picture for him. He was so sweet to her when she was telling him all about it!! Made my heart smile!!!
We love you so much, Chandler and have been so blessed since God sent you to us 11 years ago!! Hope you had a fantastic birthday!!!
And that's a fact, Jack!!!
