Nursery

Kylie had a color scheme in mind and ordered a bumper pad, crib sheet and bedskirt so we set out to find fabric to match for other things in the room and put it all together.  I thought it turned out really cute and I think Kylie is pleased.

Someone had given her a glider when she had Harrison but since it was blue denim, she wanted it recovered for baby girl's room.  We found some fabric and I conquered my fear and got that piece recovered.

Then she decided that she wanted the ruffled curtains to match the bedskirt.  This wasn't hard-just time consuming and in spite of measuring and measuring I still got off so don't look too closely!!

We found fabric to make a couple of more crib sheets and they were pretty easy to make.

We had given Kylie the chandelier for her birthday when she was in college so she wanted it repainted to use in the baby's room.  Then I made a cover from some leftover crib sheet fabric to cover the cord on the lamp.  Kylie painted the frame of an old mirror that I had in the attic and a friend did the vinyl lettering of the baby's initials.  Then Kylie couldn't find a changing pad cover to match so I bought some gray minky and put that together.

Kylie is using a couple of pieces of furniture that was in hers and Britni's room growing up.  She is using the chest of drawers and the desk and then she found a crib to match.  It looks really cute together after she updated the handles and knobs and I think it is really special that the baby will have furniture that belonged to her mother!!  Kylie also made the little hair bow board on top of the chest out of a canvas board and some leftover crib sheet fabric.  It is really cute.

Then Kylie found a sign that she wanted to make with the baby's name and a favorite bible verse.  Robert had a piece of wood in the barn and I told Kylie we could frame it out and I thought it would be cute.  We took the fabric and matched the paint at Lowe's.  We got it painted and Robert put the frame on it and then Kylie's friend did the letting.  I think it turned out precious!!!

I think Kylie wants to and some pictures after the baby is born to make it complete.  I think the nursery is absolutely precious and I am glad that I was able to help out.  I love Kylie's choice of colors and patterns and can't wait to see that sweet baby in her crib!
