Memorial Day Weekend 2013

I am so thankful for the men and women - past and present - who serve our great country so that I can have the freedom to spend a day with my family.  God bless our military and their families!!

We started the weekend early.  On Thursday evening we went to eat at the Fish Fry to celebrate my sister - Barbara's birthday.  Of course I didn't bring my camera but in attendance were my sister and her husband, Ann and Hugh; my brother and his wife, Steve and Tina; my niece, Lindsay  and her husband, Jeremy; Barbara and her husband, Tim and Robert and I.  The fish was delicious as usual. Afterwards we went to Braums for ice cream and more visiting.  We had a good time and Barbara really enjoyed her thoughtful gifts!!  :)

Britni and her family came in on Friday evening for the weekend.  Kylie, Steven and Harrison went to visit Robert's  mother and Steven's parents for the weekend and Austin had to work.

Kinsler was not too sure about Olsen in the beginning.

He would try to pet Olsen and then he would cry.

But by the end Kinsler finally warmed up to him a bit and decided Olsen wasn't too bad!!

My sister-in-law, Tina is retiring from teaching this year and offered her stuff to Britni so on Saturday morning we went to load up some teaching materials from Tina's  classroom.  We had lunch at Jalepenos Mexican Grill and it was really good.  After loading up the teaching stuff we went out to look at Lindsay and Jeremy's new house that they are in the process of building.

We headed back home and picked up the rest of the crew and headed to DQ for dinner.  Chuck, Chandler and Rainey had been visiting Chuck's parents.

On Sunday we went to church and then spent the afternoon playing with the grands.  The kids swam, even though I thought the water was still a bit chilly.

They played with the kittens and road their bikes.

They took two kittens home with them which they have named Johnny and Manziel.  Whoop!!

The brothers hung out and watched the Indy 500.

And then too soon it was time for them to head home.

And Kinsler was done with the picture taking!!

This is not the best quality picture but I thought it was so precious with big sister trying to calm little brother!!  Sweetness!!

We had a great weekend and I can't wait until school is out so I can spend more time with those sweet kiddos!!
