Camp Granna - day 2

Today was spent mostly around our town for our Mt. Vernon Adventures -  which Chandler called Mt. Vernon Wonders!  :)  First we went to the local donut shop for breakfast.  Chandler and Rainey have always liked our donut shop or any donut shop for that matter.  They just like donuts!!  They  also picked out a muffin to take to Granny. It is their other grandmother's birthday so we took Becky a muffin with a blue sparkly birthday candle that we added.

From there we went to Little Creek Park.   At the park, the kids played for a little while but then everyone needed a restroom break!

Our other little camper finally made it!!!  Steven, Kylie and Harrison met us at the musical park.  That's not its real name but that is what Chandler has called it since the first time I took him several years ago.

Next we went to the Old Fire Station Museum.  We had taken Chandler and Rainey before but she was a baby and didn't remember.  They thought the bird eggs and the butterfly exhibits were pretty neat.

Each year when seniors are awarded the Don Meredith Scholarship their names are placed on this plaque.

Chuck and Kylie received this scholarship on their respective graduation years and their names are on the plaque.  Chandler and Rainey thought that was pretty cool to find Daddy and Aunt KyKy's names on the plaque in the museum.

Afterwards we headed home to grab a sandwich for lunch and then off to the movies.  The kids loved Monsters Inc. and so they were excited to get to see Monsters University.  It was a cute movie!

Back at  home there was more swimming and some water volleyball.  These kids never get tired of the swimming pool!!!

I went in to start dinner and was planning on fried squash.  I enlisted the help of the campers and their parents in picking the garden.  :)

We had porcupine meatballs and homemade macaroni and cheese with purple hull peas from our garden last year and fried squash fresh from the garden today.  Chandler especially like the macaroni and cheese!  Harrison saw the squash on the plate and asked for cookies.  He actually ate 2 slices of fried squash as long as we were calling them "cookies".  He is such a picky eater and we were pleasantly surprised that he actually ate the squash!!

Day 2,  I believe was also a success and Granna is having fun making memories!!!
