Grandma's coming!!

One of my students came to my desk today and said, "Do you know what's good about today?" I asked him what and he said, "My grandma is coming. She is probably already here at her mom's house. We are going over there after school. And-she's staying until Tuesday!"

He was so excited and it was so sweet I almost cried. I hope Chandler is still excited that Granna is coming when he is in 5th grade!!

A leaf is nothing more than a summer's wave goodbye..

I was letting Austin's dog, Olsen out of the pen today and while I was outside I couldn't help noticing the beauty in my own backyard!! I thought I would share a few pics. This tree is amazing. In the spring it puts on beautiful white flowers and then it has spectacular green leaves. Then at this time of year they turn a deep reddish maroon color. It is neat to watch it change throughout the year.

The berries on this bush start out green and eventually turn the brightest Christmas red before the birds eat them all!!

This tree is on the far side of the swimming pool and we have the perfect view from the back window. It's colors have been beautiful this year.

I picked these leaves up off the ground. I was amazed out how many different colors I found. Each one was just a little bit different. Wish Chandler, Rainey and Noah were here to play in the leaves with me!!

Oh give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the people! Sing to him; sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works!

Psalm 105:1-2

I believe these wonderful fall colors are definitely a part of God's "wondrous works".

State Fair

On Sunday, Kylie, Steven, Robert and I went to the fair.

Kylie had been once when she was younger but I don't think Steven had ever been. We first stopped by the Chevrolet tent to test drive some new vehicles - namely the yellow Camaro. Steven wants one in the worst way.

We then had a Flecther's corndog. We didn't even know they were the best but a man behind us was telling us all about them. And it was really good. We walked on and watched a group of belly dancers (Robert's favorite part.) hee hee They were some "healthy" dancers. Steven wanted to see some more cars so Kylie and I headed a different direction. We just walked around seeing the sites and met back up with Steven and Robert later and checked out the Corvettes and then watched the bird show. The birds really are amazing. The bald eagles are always my favorite. They are so beautiful!

On the way to the ferris wheel we saw a bagpipe band. They are always neat to hear.

The line for the ferris wheel was incredibly long so we pooled our coupons and got funnel cakes instead. We were worn out by this time so we headed home. It was a fun day and I enjoyed getting to spend time with Kylie and Steven and my hubby - of course.

Spellcheck

Wouldn't it be great if I could spell or if spell check would catch all of my errors!!?? Robert usually does it for me but he was busy mowing the yard before the rain hits today. So in the previous post - Rainey grabbed her tummy and actually said "scared" rather than "sacred". :) It really irritates me after I have posted something and then I go back the next day and re-read it and there are errors. We bought a new laptop in August and when we are typing it sometimes skips letters- even if you press them. So I always go back and re-read my posts about 4 times before I submit - but then I still miss some things. Just a little pet peeve of mine!! (Thought ewe mite bee interested.) LOL If I've misspelled something in this post- I am blaming it on the computer. :)

Big Orange Pumpkin Farm

On Saturday, we went to the Big Orange Pumpkin Farm in Celina. It was a lot of fun and I think the little ones had a great time.

We got feed for the animals. There were goats, cows, sheep and chickens.

After feeding some animals we went on a hayride.

Along the ride they had several haybales decorated that were pretty cute.

Rainey would say "spider" and then grab her tummy and say "sacred". Silly girl.

They had a little concession stand with picnic tables. The kids were serious about those hot dogs.

We picked out a few "sweet pumpkins" to take home. Aren't they cute!!

There were lots of pumpkins around the farm and lots of places for photo opportunities!!

It was a neat place which made for a fun day.

Go Big Blue!!

Early Saturday morning Robert and I headed out to watch Chandler play basketball. We got there late so I was furiously digging my camera out of the bag as soon as I got in the door. Right after I took this shot Chandler stole the ball and dribbled down and scored. I was obviously too excited to get the camera refocused to get shots of the score!! :(

Here is Chandler's #1 fan!!

After the game we headed back to Chuck and Britni's to get changed before heading to the pumpkin farm. We had to have a little play time first. Chandler loves Legos and is really good at building things. Engineer maybe??!! :)

Then we had to do a little cooking.

Checking the burner. ;)

Umm,umm good!!

Next stop - the Big Orange Pumpkin Farm!

Happy 2nd Birthday, precious Rainey!!

Today is our little grandaughter's 2nd birthday. She is such a doll. Rainey definitely has her own personality and she is pretty funny. She jabbers up a storm and is the boss. We have a ninety pound lab that is way bigger than she is but she bosses him around. She says in a stern voice - Sit down, boy!! and he usually listens to her.

Here she is this morning just after waking up. Wild hair!!

We had her party on Saturday with family at our house. We finished up her banner late Friday night. Then we went to the attic looking for some of Kylie's Aggie stuff that she wanted to take home.

While in the attic the girls got to looking through their boxes of stuff and Kylie found some of her "medical toys". We thought it was pretty funny that she had several toys when she was younger that had a medical conotation and then she ended up as a Labor & Delivery nurse.

This was about 2 in the morning when we were taking this little trip down memory lane!!! :)

On Saturday morning we all headed to Countryfest and the girls saw several classmates from high school and other friends that they got to visit with. We got a funnel cake and some free stew from one of Kylie's friends. It was really good!! Then we headed home to straighten and set up for the party.

Here is the birthday girl. Britni made her little dress and a friend's mom monogrammed the "R" on the front.

Rainey kept blowing out the candles before we could sing to her. Then when it was time to blow them out she would just do little puffs of air!

Rainey's mommy and daddy got her a pink kitchen set for her birthday. It is sooo cute. We got her these pink and blue pots and pans and cookie sheets for her kitchen.

I made her this little apron because if she is going to be doing all that cooking - she will need an apron.

She got some other kitchen utensils and some cute outfits from other guests including this one from Aunt Ann's family.

Another big hit with Rainey was the gift from Aunt Ky Ky and Uncle Steven. It was a "You and Me" baby doll. You can press its hands and feet and it makes different cooing and gurgling sounds. You press its nose and it sneezes and its eyes close and open. Then it comes with a little blood pressure cuff, medicine syringe, thermometer and a stethescope and when you place the stethescope on the baby's chest you can hear its little heart beat. It is pretty cute and Rainey loves it. She is a little mommy and loves her baby dolls.

Here are a few shots of some of the party animals.

Chandler is under the gift bag. LOL

Little, sweet Rainey- These have really been 2 short years. You are such a blessing to us and we love you so much!! Happy Birthday, sweet girl.
