Memorial Day

Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation's service.

We had several special guests for the weekend.  Chuck, Britni, Chandler and Rainey met us at White Oak for dinner on Friday evening on their way to spend the weekend in Mt. Vernon.  They went on to Chuck's parents' afterwards to spend the night and would come to our house on Saturday.  The house needed some major cleaning so I thought that I would get up Saturday morning and vacuum and mop and get ready for the day.  While I was vacuuming, I saw this surprise visitor peeking around the corner.
We had a great weekend visiting, eating and swimming . . .

. . .and remembering why we are free to be able to enjoy each other's company.  Thank you to our military past and present for your service to our country.  May God bless you and your families!!!
