Camp Granna day 5

Granna pooped out!! I woke up with a major headache and had it ALL day!! The kids were petty good. They watched movies and played with every toy in the house from the sunroom upstairs to the closet under the stairs - where I keep toys and games - to the toy basket in the living room. They drank tons of Gatorade or "Gade" as Rainey calls it and ate tons of Goldfish! Austin's room looked like a war zone. We moved our old big screen TV into his room so the kids usually go in there to watch movies which means they drag their toys in there as well their Gatorade and Goldfish. Oh well . . . it will be quiet around here tomorrow because their mommy came to take them home!! :(

Before Britni got here they went swimming with Grandad on guard. I went out to see if they liked biscuits, gravy and sausage because I thought I would do that for dinner. Chandler said, "You know what I love? I love gravy, biscuits and Granna." He is such a sweet boy!!!

At bedtime Britni told them it was time for bed so Rainey grabbed her blanket and headed for my room. Britni asked where she was going and she said "to Granna's bed." Britni said, "Don't you want to sleep with Mommy?" Rainey said, "Sure." Too cute!!

They are always so much fun and make me laugh a lot!!

Camp Granna day 4

We slept in this morning. Woo Hoo!!! It was so nice to sleep until 9 since I was awakened way in the night by Chandler calling out - Granna, I had a bad dream. Then later on in the night Rainey must have been having a bad dream and she started calling out - Daddy!! We got up and had breakfast and then they wanted to play basketball. Then they did some time in the sandbox until it was time for lunch.





They watched some TV and I was hoping Rainey might take a little nap but she tries her best not to go to sleep. After a cheese cube snack - these kids love them some cheese - we made a volcano!! Oh yeah!!! It was kind of cheesy! I took the easy route and threw a little play dough on the bottle instead of mixing the flour and such. They liked it though so that's all that counts.

Rainey and Uncle Austin played with the play dough. Austin wasn't that thrilled about having his picture taken - knowing it would go on the blog!!





While we were playing outside, the kids found some bird feathers. They always think the feathers are pretty cool. One that Chandler found was black with white polka dots which I thought was very interesting!



We had another fun day!! The parentals will be here tomorrow night. This week has passed rather quickly!!

Camp Granna day 3

I had a doctor appointment in Dallas so the grands were with Grandad today. Rainey tee teed on the couch before 9 a.m. and Grandad called me 3 times to find out what to do about it - all before 10 a.m. I actually told him what to do the first time he called. The second call he asked if he should put the cushion outside and let it air out. Again I told him to look for the upholstry cleaner - which was in the laundry room, but that would mean he would actually have to go into the laundry room. heehee I guess he finally figured it out and got it cleaned and he did some laundry as well!! Yea!! Well - he had to wash Rainey's blanket because she has to have that thing!!

I got back from Dallas and they were ready to go swimming. I don't think Grandad and Uncle Austin put out much effort in the Camp Granna business. So we went swimming . . .



and played a little basketball.











Then it was time for dinner. Afterwards we watched a little Rangers and a little Three Stooges and now Rainey has crashed on my bed!

Camp Granna day 2

We started the day early - well - early for me for the summer!! I had to deliver some shirts to a teacher at school and then we headed to the donut shop. We'll have one chocolate covered donut, one chocolate with sprinkles, a dozen donut holes, a white milk and a chocolate milk please and thank you!! Then we headed to the park in Quitman. Yes - I did have a reason for driving to Quitman, but you will not find out why today!! The kids played for a couple of hours and they had a great time but they were filthy from head to toe!!

Then we headed back to Mt. Vernon and met Grandad and Uncle Austin there for lunch. I think their favorite part is catching you off guard and hitting you with the straw paper.



Yum - dessert!!





We then went home to play some more (rest for Granna). Chandler and Rainey pulled out every toy car they own at my house and that is a lot!!! They played and fussed and played some more. They heard Austin on the mower so he got some unsolicited help with the yard work.





And there is always time to play with Olson. He makes sure of that!!





Rainey is like Linus in that she must have her blanket!! She drags it everywhere - especially when she is tired. When she came in from riding the lawn mower with Austin, she asked for her blanket. When she and Chandler were playing I thought I would throw it in the washing machine. I told her it was in the washing machine and that it was going to be clean and would smell good. She went to the laundry room and just put her head on the washing machine!! I couldn't help but laugh - but she was devastated!!



We have been completely out of milk for a couple of days and these kids drink milk so we ran to the grocery for a few items. Not really a fun trip when Rainey hasn't had a nap but she wasn't too bad. I had put the clothes - including Rainey's blanket in the dryer before we left. As soon as we got back from the store she went straight to the dryer and got her blanket. :)

They wanted to swim but Austin needed to clean the pool first. While Austin was doing that I thought I would prepare dinner and it could be cooking while we played in the pool, however dinner was done about the same time Austin finished with the pool so we ate first. Then I let the kids swim for about an hour and then we hit the shower and put Rainey to bed. Chandler is still up watching the Disney channel and I am about to hit the sack myself!! Another fun day at camp!!

Camp Granna day 1

We took it easy today!! You know - start out slow and work your way up. Or maybe it is just that I am old and tired!! :) Chandler and Rainey played inside with everything from cars to guns to board games. Chandler watched a marathon of The Three Stooges. He thinks they are so funny!! I remember watching them back in the day with my brothers and we thought they were so funny that we missed the school bus a couple of times because of them.

Rainey and I played board games such as Mancala. We played Rainey's version - of course!!





And then went swimming.



We ended the day with pancakes and bacon - yeah - breakfast for dinner!! Tomorrow - maybe the park and snowcones. We shall see!!
